A retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, Derrick Jackson dedicated 22 years to honorable service. Following his military career, he excelled as a corporate executive for 10 years and has since served as a State Representative for five terms (10 years). Beyond his professional achievements, Derrick Jackson is a devoted husband and proud father to seven outstanding young adults. Our introduction to this extraordinary leader dates back to June 2025, when he graciously accepted our invitation to be the Guest Speaker for the Black Wall Street Group's Sunday evening conference call. His enthusiasm and willingness to engage with our community left a lasting impression. The call was filled with excitement as State Representative Derrick Jackson shared his knowledge, vision, and inspiration with our members. The Black Wall Street Group, founded by Madame Queen Winessa Smith, is dedicated to discussions surrounding black health, black wealth, biblical empowerment, and staying informed about political matters. Why political awareness matters?
Our ancestors fought tirelessly, sacrificing everything to secure the right to vote—a right that signifies freedom, equality, and power. Yet, it’s deeply concerning that many in the Black community are choosing not to exercise this hard-earned privilege. In the Georgia 2024 election, 89 million African Americans did not cast their votes. This lack of participation opens the door for political leaders who may promote policies that discriminate against people of color. This is not just unjust—it’s immoral and deeply damaging to our community. Your voice, your vote, has the power to influence change. At IM THE BOSS, we are committed to empowering, educating, and inspiring you to recognize the strength of your vote. Together, we can shape a better future.
Biggest political challenges
One of the greatest challenges we face today is the declining interest in voting, especially among our youth. It’s crucial to educate the next generation about the power and importance of their voice at the ballot box. During the Civil Rights Movement, countless activists fought tirelessly to secure our right to vote—a legacy that must not be forgotten. It’s time to reengage and empower our Black communities, reminding them that their voices matter. We also need politicians to honor their promises and be transparent about their limitations, fostering trust and continued support within the community.
How IM the boss can help
IM THE BOSS (BLACK WALL STREET GROUP) aims to help the Black community become more politically engaged through voter registration drives and educational initiatives. I would like to set up rally booths on the street to register voters and give away a $50 gift card to the 50th registered person. We can inspire others when we use creative ideas to get the black community more politically engaged.

Our mission is to engage the Black Church in empowering their congregations to become active, registered voters while inspiring discussions about the importance of voter registration. We envision every Black Church opening its doors to serve as a voting location, transforming these sacred spaces into hubs of civic engagement.
The Black Church holds immense influence, offering unique opportunities to share vital political information. Following a powerful sermon, congregants can be encouraged to take actionable steps in shaping the future by participating in both Presidential and local elections.
The core message is clear: with faith as our foundation, we have the power to drive change and support the leaders who represent our values and communities.
